2. Main Uses of SS K Files (Stainless Steel K-Files):

   1. Manual root canal cleaning and shaping

      • SS K-files are hand-operated files used to enlarge and shape root canals, especially during initial treatment.

   2. Establishing the glide path

      • Commonly used in sizes #08, #10, and #15 to negotiate the canal and reach working length before using rotary files.

   3. Tactile feedback for canal exploration

      • Provide excellent manual control, allowing the dentist to feel obstructions, calcifications, or curvatures.

   4. Durable for straight canals

      • Stainless steel makes them strong and resistant to bending, especially effective in straight canals.

   5. Used with watch-winding or filing motion

      • Designed for manual techniques such as the balanced force or watch-winding methods.
