2. Main Uses of NT S Files :

• Manual root canal shaping and enlargement

  • NT S files are used to cut and shape the canal walls manually, usually after initial glide path creation.

• Efficient cutting with aggressive action

  • Their spiral (S-shaped) design offers a more aggressive cutting efficiency compared to K-files.

• Used in straight or mildly curved canals

  • They work well in less complex canals, but require careful use to avoid ledging or transportation.

• Debris removal

  • Their shape helps in removing dentin chips and other debris effectively from the canal.

• Usually used in a pull motion

  • Best operated using filing or pull-back strokes, not rotating continuously.
