2. Main Uses of NT H Files

• Manual root canal enlargement

  • NT H-files are used for enlarging and shaping the canal by hand, especially after glide path creation.

• Strong cutting efficiency on pull stroke

  • Their spiral, sharp flute design is highly effective when used in a pull (filing) motion, not rotation.

• Debridement of canal walls

  • Excellent for removing dentin shavings, pulp tissue, or soft debris.

• Use in straight or slightly curved canals

  • Due to their rigid and sharp design, they’re better suited for less curved canals to avoid ledging or breakage.

• Finishing after rotary preparation

  • Sometimes used for final manual refinement or finishing of the canal after rotary file use.
