FAQ

Q1:Can MetiSmile-MR be purchased and used independently?

MetiSmile-MR can be purchased as a standalone device or used in combination with the all-in-one cart system, depending on your clinical workflow needs.

Q2:What is the major difference between MetiSmile and MetiSmile-MR?

MetiSmile-MR is specifically designed for jaw motion function. It comes with a built-in Mandibular Movement Trajectory Tracking module. Users can also optionally purchase and activate Mandibular Movement Trajectory Analysis and Optimal Jaw Relation modules. Other functionalities are identical to the standard MetiSmile.

Q3:What accessories are required to use jaw motion features, and how can I obtain them?

Cement Retention Jaw Motion Trackers (for natural teeth or removable dentures cases)

• Screw Retention Jaw Motion Trackers (for All-on-X implant cases)

•Markers

Each tracker consists of a metal tracker body (reusable for up to 100 sterilization cycles) and a geometric-featured shell (reusable for up to 50 cycles).

Q4:What can I do with the trajectory data acquired by the software?

Trajectory files can be exported to exocad to assist in designing prosthetic restorations. These data can also support the analysis of TMD by visualizing movement coordination, occlusal symmetry, and stability, but final diagnosis remains at the discretion of the clinician. The software also helps to find the most suitable jaw relationship for both dentulous and edentulous patients. Adjusted jaw relations can be imported into exocad or CreSplint within the software for accurate occlusal splint design.

Q5:Can I continue scanning if the markers or motion tracker fall off during the capture process?

If the markers or the motion tracker become detached, simply reattach them to their original positions. The software supports re-recognition, allowing you to resume the capture process without restarting.
